Piedmont man arrested in connection with stabbing death of mother

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Adam Ali Valipour, 32 in connection with the stabbing of his mother multiple times, resulting in her death. The incident happened Sunday night at 6:15 p.m. at 17 Willimon Drive in Piedmont.

According to reports, the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls in the area of Old Grove Road and Rockvale Drive regarding a white male with no clothing who appeared to have blood on him and was in possession of a knife.

As deputies arrived on scene the subject ran from the area and was located a short time later in a wood line near Willimon Drive. The subject was acting irrational and had sustained what appeared to be a self inflicted wound to the chest area and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The subject also told deputies that he had harmed his mother. Deputies responded to the subject’s home and located a deceased white female inside the residence.

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit responded and immediately began working the case. Through the course of the investigation, investigators learned that Valipour was responsible for stabbing his mother multiple times, resulting in her death. Valipour is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Valipour is still at the Greenville Health System being treated for self-inflicted stab wounds and has not received a bond.
