Helping Others Pursue Excellence (H.O.P.E.). is a new local partnership initiative which organizer Cindy Robertson said will reach out to community needs and provide a pathway to excellence.

According to Robertson, the purpose of the faith partnership initiative expo was to help the community understand what skills are required by local employers, training opportunities available to upgrade their skills so they are qualified for area jobs, and the resources that are available to help pay for that training.

H.O.P.E hosted a successful job fair last Thursday in Williamston.

Sixty-two people participated in the job fair with 35 candidates being referred for job interviews, Robertson said.

The project is co-sponsored by Anderson Interfaith Ministires, Tri County Tech, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and The Town of Williamston.
