Robert “Bob” Allen Skelnik, 80, of Piedmont, husband of Nellie “Ann” Shirley Skelnik, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Florian Skelnik and Marie King Skelnik Roth. He was a United States Air Force veteran and worked at Metromont Corporation. He was also a member at Mount Airy Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Dwayne Skelnik of Easley; daughters, Sherri Merritt of Greer and Christy McNeely of Easley; sister, Linda Miller of Central City, Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A graveside memorial service was held Saturday, November 22 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

DORSIE C. FOWLER

Dorsie Candler Fowler, 103, of Easley, wife of the late Mack Arthur “M.A.” Fowler, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at her home.

Born in Buncombe County, NC, daughter of the late George Newton and Sally Towe Candler, she retired from Southern Franklin Co. and was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Gary G. Fowler of Piedmont and Keith Fowler of Cullman, AL; daughter, Nancy Fowler of the home; sister, Allie Candler of Laurens; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the church prior to the service.

KATHIE EDDLEMAN

WILLIAMSTON – Kathie Clark Eddleman, 64, died Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Anmed Health Medical Center.

Born in Williamston, she was the daughter of the late Barbara Clark Shaw.  She was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Piedmont.

Surviving are daughter, Tina Thrasher of Pelzer; grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Parsons; great-grandchildren, Drayton, Breelyn and Trenton Parsons.

She was predeceased by a grandson, Dewayne Parsons.

Visitation was held from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Friday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

A graveside service followed at 3:15 p.m. at the Williamston Cemetery.

EVA BROWN  FULBRIGHT

Eva Nell Brown Fulbright, 81, of Spartanburg, died November 18, 2014.

She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Martin Brown and Florence Elrod Brown Wyatt.

She is survived by her husband, Henry; daughter, Wanda King of Nashville, TN; son, Dr. Ron Fulbright of Spartanburg; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Faye Dees of Piedmont; and brother, Roy Brown of Townville.

Funeral service was held Saturday, November 22 at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel in Spartanburg. Burial followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

EDNA ROGERS WYATT

Edna Rogers Wyatt, 86, wife of Bill M. Wyatt died Wednesday, November 1, 2014 at McCall Hospice House.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late Shuman and ruth Dowis Rogers.

She retired from F.W. Woolworth and was a member of Dunean Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, William Rogers of Greer and David Rogers of Greenville; and sister, Dorothy R. Hudson of Greer.

Funeral service was held Sunday, November 23 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown Chapel. Burial followed in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

JAMES EDWARD ‘ED’ SHELL

James Edward “Ed” Shell, 93, husband of Betty Elrod Shell, died Thursday, November 20, 2014.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from Orders Distributing and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, daughter, BJ Powers of Alpharetta, GA; son, Robert “Bob” E. Shell of Piedmont; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Monday, November 24 at Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery.

WILLIAM ‘BILLY’ LARK

William “Billy” Lark, 60, died November 23, 2014.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late William Frank and Ruby Lee Cockrell Lark. He retired from J.P. Stevens and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Heather Lark of Simpsonville and Rebecca Lark of Bishopville; sisters, Sharon Sanders of Honea Path and Rebecca Rochester of Piedmont; brother, Ray Sanders of Piedmont; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Piedmont. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be at the home of Rebecca Rochester, 428 Moody Lane, Piedmont, SC 29673.

JOANN ALVERSON BROWN

PIEDMONT – JoAnn Alverson Brown, 59, of Piedmont SC, went to be with Jesus on November 22nd 2014 at her home.

She is survived by her husband Ricky Brown of the home, her daughter Niki Brown of the home, Brother Don Alverson (Sandra) of Pelzer S.C., sons Joe Brown (Teresa) of Piedmont, Reggie Brown (Julie) of Piedmont SC.

The family will be at the home. Services will be held at Southside Baptist Church in Piedmont SC on Sunday November 30, 2014 at 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be accepted in a go fund me account in her honor.

JERRY W. LOLLIS

Jerry Wayne Lollis, 69, of Liberty, died Saturday, November 22, 2014.

Born in Piedmont, he was son of the late James and Clara Watson Lollis.

He is survived by four daughters, Debra Kneece, Donna Stargel, Marie Davis, and Tammy Ozanne; three sons, Dennis Gambrell, Tim Lollis and Wayne Lollis; one grandson of the home, Austin Lollis; seven sisters; two brothers; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 24 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Piedmont.

ROBERT GENE LOCKE

Robert Gene Locke, 83, of Greenville, husband of Nora Frances Smith Locke, died Friday, November 21, 2014.

Born in Piedmont, he was a son of the late Walter Benjamin and Ella Mae Holcombe Locke.

He was a member of Monaghan Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Robert A. Locke; daughter, Lisa Locke Ashe; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, James K. Locke and Richard W. Locke.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Nov. 23 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest Chapel. A private burial followed.

DOUGLAS MAHONEY

Douglas Allen Mahoney, 73, of Pelzer, widower of Mary Nell Masters Mahoney, died Sunday, November 23, 2014.

He is survived by son, Mark Allen Mahoney of Belton; daughter, Melissa “Missy” Roper of Pelzer; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Garden of Memories in Belton.

WILLIS TRILBY MICHAEL

Willis Trilby Michael, 81, of Anderson, died Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Hartcare Center in Hartwell, GA.

Born in jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late Fred and Rachael Simpson Michael and was raised by his grandparents, Waymon Allen and Ada Fisher Simpson.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, retired from Duke Power, and was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Nancy Boyle of Piedmont and Susie Rhodes of Seneca; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucy Wall of Charleston.
