At New Prospect Baptist

The Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. will be marking its 108th Founder’s Day Celebration with a service on Sunday, December 7th at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Williamston. Rev. Darrin K. Johnson, a GGL Brother, is the current pastor of the church and has invited all brothers in the Upstate area and their families to attend the service.

“This is our 108th Founders Day Celebration,” Rev. Johnson said. “We will have our brothers coming from various parts of South Carolina and the surrounding area. Many also will be coming from Clemson and South Carolina State as well. We are expecting around 70 or so men and their families to be in worship with us.”

Rev. Johnson said, “We are First of All Servant to All to Transcend All. It is our aim and goal to help enhance our local community, state and nation to become a better place to dwell in for all.”

The APA Fraternity supports voter registration, tutorial programs for higher education, provides scholarship and sponsors a Martin Luther King Jr. Banquet every year. “Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is considered one of our brothers as well,” Johnson said. “We promote many of his ideas today.”

All area Alpha brothers are invited to attend and are asked to wear a black suit and gold ties to the service and to arrive between 10:15 AM and 10:30 AM. We will assemble at 10:30 am so we can arrange ourselves to sit together. GGL Brothers are also asked to invite other brothers in the area to attend.

Devotion starts at 10:45 AM and the services begin 10:55 AM. More information about New Prospect MBC can be found on their website: http://www.newprospectwilliamston.org

There will be a Chapter picture and Sunday dinner following the service.
