The results of the West Pelzer special election held last week have been certified by the Anderson County Elections Commission. They are as follows: Donnie Jeanes won the vacant town council seat with 43 votes, or 39.8% of the votes cast.

Shyanne Webb received 34 votes, or 31.4%; James Riddle Sr. received 18 votes, or 16.6%, while David Odom received 13 votes or 12%. No failsafe, provisional, or write-in ballots were cast.

One hundred and nine of the town’s four hundred and ninety five voters, or twenty two per cent, cast ballots. Jeanes will be sworn in at next Monday’s Council meeting.
