Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies are looking into several thefts that occurred in the Old Williamston Road area on Friday, January 9. According to incident reports, in the early morning hours on Friday thieves broke into eight unlocked vehicles parked on Amberwood, Olivarri, Aycock Drive and Cresta Verde Road.

Items taken included gloves, GPS devices, a pistol, a wallet and even a box of Krispy Kreme® doughnuts. Surveillance provided at one residence indicates that a group of three to four black males may be to blame.

Sheriff John Skipper urged residents to lock their vehicles. “Citizens should get in the habit of locking their car doors, even in their own driveway,” sheriff Skipper said. “A lot of thieves are opportunists and look for easy targets, such as unlocked vehicles.”

Anyone with information concerning these thefts or the identity of possible suspects is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (864) 260-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
