The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has located the body of Patricia Ann Shaw, WF age 56 of Anderson. Her body was located Monday afternoon in the wooded area behind Coldwater Lane in the Homeland Park area of Anderson.

According to investigators, they were conducting a follow-up investigation concerning Ms. Shaw’s disappearance when the body was discovered by cadaver dogs. The dogs were provided by Foothills Search and Rescue.

Ms. Shaw was reported missing on January 19, 2015 by a family member. At that time, the family indicated that they had not heard from Shaw since mid-November and had been attempting to locate her on their own for several weeks.

Investigators learned that the family had been in touch with Shaw’s ex-boyfriend and that he indicated to them that Shaw had been visiting him at his Coldwater address until late November when she allegedly left on foot to go to a dental appointment.

According to family members, Ms. Shaw was on medication and being treated for an unknown medical condition, possibly lung cancer.

Anderson County Sheriff John Skipper said, “Based on the results of this morning’s autopsy, the coroner’s office has indicated that the specific cause of Ms. Shaw’s death could not be determined but there did not appear to be any signs of trauma. However, our case is still active. We will be submitting toxicology evidence to SLED’s forensic lab and will review the results of their report before closing out this case.”
