BOBBY PAIGE

BELTON – Bobby Clarence Paige, 78, widower of Jeannette Childs Paige, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Clarence Paige and Ruby Paige Eskew.  He was retired from Gerber Childrenswear and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Bobbie Jo Blankenship of Piedmont; sons, John Clarence Paige (Tracy Driver) of Anderson, Greg Paige (Billie Joe) of Pelzer; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Donald Paige and a sister, Mary Eskew.

Visitation was held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Baptist Church.

Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home of Greg Paige, 277 Joe Black Rd., Pelzer.

DEBORAH GRAY

Deborah Gray, 53, of Simpsonville, died Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Francis Downtown.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Emma Lee Abraham.

Surviving are her husband, David Gray of the home; daughters, LaCresha Curtis of Greenville, DeVita LaShay Gray of Atlanta, GA, and Etoy April-Michelle Gossett of Piedmont; sons, David Andrew Gray of Laurens and Talmadge Brown of Hampton, VA; sisters, Ineece Abraham and Levone Abraham, both of Greenville, and Audrey Hallingquest of Orangeburg; and brother, Robert Abraham of Greenville.

Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 6 at Reedy River Missionary Baptist Church with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

DEBBIE BRADSHAW

PELZER – Debra “Debbie” Carol Vinson Bradshaw, 49, wife of Sam Edward Bradshaw, Jr., died Wednesday, February 4, 2015.

Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of Harold Vinson of Pelzer and the late Zoa Davis Vinson. She loved the beach and being with her family.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by daughters, Cassie Nichole Bradshaw and Brandi Leigh Bradshaw; brother, Tony Eugene Vinson; nephews, Carter and Thomas Vinson, all of Pelzer.

She was predeceased by a nephew, Hunter Vinson.

Visitation was from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Saturday, February 7 at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The service was held at 2:00 pm Sunday, February 8 in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARY FRANCES ALLEN

Mary Frances Allen, 83, of Pelzer, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at her home.

Born a daughter of the late Cardell Henderson and the late Annie B. Dogan Henderson and wife of the late George Allen, she retired from Kemet Electronics.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorraine Henderson of the home; one brother, Clarence Henderson of Simpsonville; three sisters, Arletha Shorter of Greenville, Ruth Brown of Columbia, and Betty Cox of Taylors.

Funeral service was held Saturday at The Rock of Ages Baptist Church. Burial followed in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

NORMA JEAN FRYE

Norma Jean Frye, 73, of Piedmont, died Thursday, February 5, 2015.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Norman McAlister and Olive Mae Brissey Collins.

She was a member of Powdersville First Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Johnny Frye; two sons, Clyde Davis, Jr., and Rick Davis; three daughters, Libby Stevenson, Stephanie Helton, and Tammy Durst; three brothers, two sisters; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Sunday at The Howze Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed Monday at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

MARY S. ANDREWS

Mary Sloan Andrews, 57, of Piedmont, died February 7, 2015 at her home.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Helen M. Sloan.

She retired as an occupational therapist from Greenville County School District.

She is survived by her husband, Richard F. “Richie” Andrews, Jr.; three daughters, Blakely A. Amati, M.D., Martha A. “Molly” Grigsby, and Mary E. “Betsy” Andrews; two grandsons; siblings, Helen E. “Libba” Sloan, M.D., Jane S. Cooper, and John L. Sloan, Jr., M.D.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 14 at Greenville Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church.

WILLIAM G. “BILL” KLUMP

William G. “Bill” Klump, 70, of Pelzer, died Friday, February 6, 2015.

He is survived by his wife, Diana L. Klump; daughter, Kristen Klump Pare; one granddaughter; siblings, Cindy Barnett, Ronald Klump, Tim Klump, Gerry Klump, and Mark Klump.

He was predeceased by his parents, Herman and Anne Klump.

He was an engineer for General Electric.

The Inurnment will be held in the spring in New York.

REV. LELA BREEZE

Rev. Lela Breeze of Greenville, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at her home.

She was the daughter of the late John and Zadie Gambrell Benson.

Surviving are her husband, Rev. Ralph Breeze; daughters, Sedalia Norris and Andrea Sligh of Greenville; granddaughter reared in the home, Sharonda Williams of Piedmont; sons, Ralph Breeze, Jr., E. Wayne and Carl Breeze of Greenville, and Calvin Breeze of Georgia; sisters, Annie Gibbs of Seneca and Margaret Telley of Alabama; brothers, Frank Holland of Georgia, Ernest Holland of Easley, Charles Benson of Seneca and Rev. Larry Benson of Greenville.

Funeral services were held Monday at Fuller Normal School with burial in Greenville Memorial Gardens.

GEORGE GARRISON

The Unity Mortuary of Williamston announces the death of Mr. George Garrison, 97, of Williamston on Sunday, February 8, 2015.

A day of celebration will be announced at a later date.

ROGER SMALLWOOD

PELZER – Roger Dale Smallwood, 71, husband of DeLottie White Smallwood, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015.

Born in Woodruff, he was a son of the late Grady Allen and Bessie Mae Beck Smallwood.  Roger was owner/operator of Penfield Textiles.  He was a member of Gray Court United Methodist Church and was affiliated with Washington Baptist Church.  He was also a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge in Gray Court, the Hejaz Shrine Club, and Order of the Eastern Star #84 in Pelzer.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are daughters, Traci Collins of Piedmont, Kelly (Kevin) Wilson of Pelzer; sons, Gayland (Carol) Smallwood of Piedmont, Chad (Becky) Smallwood of Gray Court, Dereck (Lynn) Sane of West Pelzer; fourteen grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Satterfield (Wendell) of Gray Court, Margie Lyda of Gray Court; brother, O’Neal Smallwood (Linda).

He was predeceased by son, Chris Smallwood, two sisters, and one brother.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:45 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Washington Baptist Church.

The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

MARGARET ANN HOOD WEISNER

PELZER – Margaret Ann Hood Weisner, age 77, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at home in Pelzer.

She is survived by her husband, James Donald Weisner; a son, William Jeffrey Weisner; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, February 7 at West Pelzer Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina at www.hospicecare.net.

ALVIN FRANKLIN JONES

Alvin Franklin Jones, 81, of Easley, husband of the late Jeffie “Jay” Cooper Jones, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Pickens to the late Thomas L. Jones, Jr. and Bessie Ethelene Moody.

He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Southern Bell.

He was a member of Eastside Baptist church in Liberty.

Surviving are three sons, Randall Alvin Jones of Greenville, Mark Thomas Jones and David William Brissey, all of Piedmont; daughter, Amanda B. Wood of Greer; sisters, Rosa Huff of Greenville, Mildred Stillwell of Easley, Bobbie Lou Keller and Ruby Nell Watta, both of Greenville; three grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eastside Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Greenville.

Visitation will be from 1 – 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the church, prior to the service.

The family is at the residence.

WAYNE J. BARNETT

Wayne Jerry Barnett “Shag”, 82, of Greenville, died Monday, February 9, 2015.

Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, he was the son of the late Raymond Etheridge and Lillian Jameson Barnett.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Neely Barnett “Polly”; daughter, Lynn Barnett Head of Murrells Inlet; and a son, Marshall Wayne Barnett of Pelzer;  three grandchildren; and sisters, Elaine Ragsdale of Greenville, Mildred Taber of Lexington, and Willene McMinn of Anderson.

He retired from the SC Department of Corrections and was a member of Overbrook Baptist Church.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, Feb. 12 in Overbrook Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 11-11:45 am in the church.

BOBBY SAM BELL

Belton – Bobby Sam Bell, age 75, died on February 8, 2015 at the Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late Sam C. Bell and the late Bertha Stone Bell. He was a member of Cheddar Fire Department since its beginning in 1965, serving as former Chief and member of the Board of Directors. He was also a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.

He retired from Springs Industries -Wamsutta Plant.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Rita Woody of Greenville, Dorothy Jones of Starr; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, J.C. Bell of Belton.

The Funeral Service was held at Whitefield Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 10. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
