More snow in forecast

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Wednesday evening until 7 a.m. Thursday with possible snow accumulation of five to eight inches.

. The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a Winter Storm Watch for portions of the North Carolina foothills and

Piedmont along with upstate South Carolina.

* Hazards… accumulating snow on highways that will cause

hazardous travel conditions.

* After a lull Tueday night and Wednesday morning… snow may

redevelop across the foothills and Piedmont of the Carolinas and

northeast Georgia Wednesday afternoon and evening.

* There is the potential for a significant snowfall Wednesday night.

* Impacts… hazardous travel conditions due to snow on highways.

* Temperatures… in the mid 30s.

* Winds… northeast 5 mph or less.

Precautionary/preparedness actions…

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. If you must travel keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
