Solid Waste

·         The Whitefield Convenience Center was broken into on 4/29/15. Individuals were coming in after hours to steal metal and materials from the Haven of Rest building. They also take materials and leave them on the property adjacent to the site which is a litter issue that needed to be addressed. Environmental Enforcement and Solid Waste staff were waiting on them as they entered the site. The Sheriff’s Department was contacted & arrested the individuals.

Put up signs at the Carswell Convenience Center this week. The Belk Company continues to work to get the site asphalting but rain continues to stop the asphalting of the site. Recycled concrete has been put into place for the 40-yard container area. The Slabtown Convenience Center will be asphalted as soon as the Carswell site is completed.
