Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:

EASLEY

May 9 – J.M. Pelfrey responded to 410 Wildmarsh Rd. where Catherine Steasser reported that someone had vandalized her car, to the tune of $400 in damages. While canvassing the area, Pelfrey received similar complaints from 503 Wildmarsh Rd., and 102 and 106 Pleasant Woods Rd. (See additional info in the Piedmont reports below)

PELZER

May 9 – M.T. Brooks was dispatched to 155 Ballard Rd. where Patricia Henderson reported that someone had entered her car and stolen her purse, valued at $80.

May 9 – J.E. Scott responded to 886 Bryant Rd. where James Collins reported the theft of a Glock 42 pistol, valued at $625, from his vehicle.

May 10 – J.E. Scott was dispatched to 117 Ponderosa Dr. where Janice Styles reported the theft of her 1998 blue Dodge Neon, valued at $4000. She stated that a key to the vehicle was among items stolen during a previous burglary at her residence.

PIEDMONT

May 8 – J.M. Culbertson responded to 333 Monroe Dr. where Mary Owens reported hearing a ‘thud’ and going into her living room to find a hole in the wall and a bullet on the floor. A canvass of the area revealed no information about the origin of the shot.

May 9 – J.M. Culbertson responded to 110 Frontage Road where Kimberly Smith stated that her boyfriend, Glenn Chavis, WM, 30, 5’5″, 150 pounds, blond/blue had become intoxicated and combative while they were at the Anderson Speedway. She had tried to drive him home but he continued to be boisterous, so she pulled into the convenience store parking lot and called 911. He was placed under arrest for public disorderly conduct.

May 9 – A.F. Acevedos responded to 102 Pleasant Woods Rd. where Michael Young reported that his vehicle had been damaged by a single male who was seen leaving the area in a black Honda Accord. The damage was estimated at $2000.

May 9 – J.E. Scott was on patrol in the vicinity of 503 Wildmarsh Rd. when he discovered a green Honda Odyssey in the road with all the windows smashed. He made contact with the resident at that address who stated the car was her sister’s and she left it parked there. The damage was estimated at $500.

May 9 – J.E. Scott was on patrol near 106 Pleasant Woods Rd. when he saw a red Dodge Durango that had been spray painted. Upon making contact with the owner at that address, it was determined that the damages were recent. The damages were set at $100.

May 9 – J.E. Scott was dispatched to the Sav-A-Lot at 910 Anderson St. where he found Keith McDermott, WM, 52, 5’9″, 180 pounds, in an intoxicated state. He was arrested for public disorderly conduct.

May 10 – J.M. Pelfrey was dispatched to 109 Gold Finch Court where Robert Linse reported the breaking into of his vehicle, and the theft of various items, valued at $1400.

May 10 – J.E. Scott responded to 312 Bentwood Rd. where Elvira Paul, WF, 31, reported that Cameron Paul, her husband, BM, 39, had assaulted her during an argument. After hearing both sides, Deputy Scott placed Elvira Paul under arrest for criminal domestic violence,and transported her to ACDC.

May 10 – J.M. Culbertson and A.F. Acevedos responded to 620 Conners Boulevard where Holly Carlton, WF, 37, and Berry Carlton,WM, 34, both refused to discuss the events that had preceded. But a daughter/stepdaughter stated that she had seen her stepfather assaulting her mother, and he was placed in custody for criminal domestic violence.

WILLIAMSTON

May 9 – C.K. Cowan responded to the BP station at 1525 Anderson St. where he arrested Colby Matheny, of Anderson, for shoplifting a drink.

May 10 – J.L. Martin was dispatched to 826 Joe Black Rd. where Kenneth Bailey reported that a woman who had been a guest at his home had taken his truck and various other items while he was sleeping, and left with them. HE indicated she lived in Belton and the BPD was contacted. She was seen fleeing on foot as the police arrived. The stolen vehicle and other items, except for a smart phone, were recovered.
