Powdersville YMCA Groundbreaking today at 3 p.m.

USDA Officials along with the YMCA, community and business leaders will break ground for the new Powdersville YMCA in the Piedmont and Easley area today (Thurs. May 21). The community is invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony. The new Powdersville YMCA will serve the Piedmont and Easley area. Ceremonies will begin at 3 p.m. at 9115 Hwy 81 N, Piedmont, SC 29673 with community and business leaders taking part.

The building is scheduled to open during the spring of 2016 and will feature an expansive fitness center, group exercise studios, outdoor functional fitness area, large basketball gym with flex use, community meeting room, childcare spaces, large multipurpose room, and athletic fields.

The facility will be a branch of the Pickens County YMCA.

The Pickens County YMCA association serves central and eastern Pickens County and Northern Anderson County. This association has two full-facility family branches, the Easley Y and the Pickens Y, and operates from several locations throughout the community.
