The Town of Williamston will begin flushing fire hydrants the week of June 29th. This is the annual DHEC required flushing. Williamston water customers are also being notified that they may see some minor water discoloration over the next few days.
Water customers being supplied by the Anderson Regional Joint Water System (ARJWS) including Williamston may see the discoloration which is being caused by increased levels of manganese and iron dissolved in the water.
Town officials said that the hydrant flushing should remove any discolored water that the town may receive from the ARJWS treatment plant. The process will take approximately two weeks.
