Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents prior to the July 4th holiday:

June 30 – Teresa Gail Ellison, 59, Honea Path reported a purse with credit cards stolen from her vehicle which was broken into in Anderson County at 19 Breazeale St., One credit card is being used all over the upstate and at Goody’s in Williamston. Then incident remains under investigation. G. Cremer investigated.

June 30 – Donnie Earl Thomason, Sr., 58, 211 Mauldin St, Williamston reported someone took three types of medication from the residence. Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

June 30 – Shirley Ann Quinton, 72, 15 Church St., #1-33 reported a 12 gauge pump shotgun valued at $266 and four packs of Buffalo Menthol 100 cigarettes taken from the location. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

July 1 – Shannon Charlie Gillespie, Sr., 43, 601 S. Piedmont Hwy. was arrested for second degree burglary after officers were dispatched to 12 Rockwood Drive in reference to a break-in in progress. Officers entered the residence with weapons drawn and gave commands for the indivisual to come out with hands up. Gillespie complied with commands and was arrested. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, M. E. Simmons investigated.
