Williamston Police busy during holiday period

Williamston Officers were busy during days prior to and following the July 4th holiday period. Among incidents investigated were:

July 2 – Geraldine Anderson, 50, 309 E. Carolina St. #A, Williamston was arrested for assault and battery 3rd after officers were dispatched to the location in reference to an assault. According to reports, Kelley Shell, 61, 11 Locust St., Greenville reported being cut by Anderson on his left ear and forearm. Reports indicate the cuts appeared to be scratches. J. T. Hunt investigated.

July 2 – James Perry Kellet, III, 29, 5429 Fork Shoals Rd., Simpsonville was arrested for criminal domestice violence after officers were dispatched to 305 Hardy St. in reference to a domestic dispute. According to reports, during an argument with Amber Lanette Bagwell, 28, of the address, Bagwell was pushed and fell on the cement driveway. M. E. Simmons investigated.

July 2 – Joshua Daniel Kelly, 21, 108 Julian Dr., Belton was arrested for simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a black Honda Civic was observed on Academy St. with no working lights. A plastic baggy containing aproximately 26 grams of marijuana and a bong were located under the driver’s seat. S. N. Robison investigated.

July 3 – Officer observed a double pane window had been broken on a door at 301A Williams St. in Williamston causing $250 in damage. K. S. Looney, Cpl. L. E. Mulz investigated.

July 4 – Lisa T. Watkins, 39, 321 S. Hamilton St., Williamston reported her 2011 Buick Regal was scratched on the drivers side starting at the rear door going to the back of the rear quarter panel. Damage was estimated at $500. The incident occured in the parking lot of Williamston First Baptist Church. R. Drennon investigated.

July 4 – Trent Earl Pearson, 37, 425 Depot Rd., Pelzer reported an unknown white male hit him in the head with a closed fist and then hit the door of the business when he was closing up at Major’s ABC, 510 Greenville Dr,. Williamston. The male and a white female were in a black Chevrolet Trail Blazer with front end damage. K. S. Looney. Sgt. K. J. Winn investigated.

July 4 – Michael Dennis Wheeler, 50, 160 Richardson Dr,. Pelzer was arrested for no SC drivers license after a vehicle was observed with bright lights on while meeting traffic on Greenville Drive. He was also issued a courtesy summons for faulty equipment. K. S. Looney investigated.

July 5 – Officers investigated an incident of possible animal abuse at 305 Mauldin St., in which a female dog was tangled up by a cable and stuck in the door way of a building with no food and water. There was no one at the residence. J. T. Hunt investigated.

July 6 – Barry Butler, 56, 4 Attaway St., Williamston reported a burglary in which a white male removed an XBox 1 and two green mini controllers from the residence. The man was described as in his early 20s, black short hair, black mustache, light tan complexion, 5’3” – 5’6” tall. Other items reported missing included 20-25 games, and XBox 360 250 GB and a Playstation 3 and a clear top kitchen scale. The man attempted to take a flat screen TV but it was left at the scene. The missing items were valued at $950. S. N. Robison investigated.

July 6 – Caroline Middleton Ellison, 44, 20 Edgewood Dr., Williamston reported a cable box valued at $100, $20 in cash and some medicine was taken from the residence. Cpl. L. E. Mulz, S. N. Robison investigated.

July 6 – Michael Gary Perry, 35, 109 Gilbert Dr., Pelzer was arrested for petit larceny after officers were dispatched to Dollar General, 526 West Main St., in Williamston in reference to a larceny. According to reports two white males and a white female took two fishing rods and reels from a truck belonging to Ralph James Duncan, 36, 205 S. Green St., Williamston. The items were valued at $245. July 7 – Jeremy Stephen Tripp, 36, 7 Elmira St., Greenville was issued a courtesy summons for opearating an uninsured vehicle, no SC drivers license and displaying a license plate registered to another vehicle after a white truck with no bed was observed pulling from Tripp Street onto S. Hamilton St,. with a trailer with no functioning tail lamps. M. E. Simmons, Z. T. Parks investigated.

July 7 – Adam Matthew Hall, 24, 201 Hill Ave., Williamston reported someone enterd his 2004 Jeep Patriot and took a social security card and debit cards. S. N. Robison investigated.

July 7 – Betty Jean Holliday, 46, 10 Davis St., Williamston reported a blue 2007 Yamaha dirt bike missing from an open shed. The bike was valued at $1500. S. N. Robison investigated.

July 8 – Bettie T. Robins, 82, 701 Bleton Hwy. Williamston reported someone attempted to pay a credit bill in the amount of $423.03 with an unauthorized payment from her credit card. J. Sargent investigated.

July 9 – Cindy Marie Beam, 510 Woodcock Rd., Pelzer was arrested for public drunk and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia after officers were dispatched to Greenville Drive. After being transported to ACDC, a search resulted in three crack pipes with burnt residue being found in her pockets. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

July 9 – Jimmy Ellison, 1200 Anderson Dr., Williamston reported several vehicles being worked on were entered. It was unclear if items were taken. The incident remains under investigation. G. Cremer investigated.

July 11 – Thomas Jonathan Evans, 32, 301 Boiter Rd., Williamston was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia after being observed behind the Haven of Rest on Hill Ave., and West Main St. According to reports, officers found a small plastic baggie, a hypodermic needle and a metal spoon. J. Sargent, C. Hardy investigated.

July 12 – Officers were dispatched to 122 W. First St. where Tonya Michelle Martin, 37, 217 Wade Farm Rd., Fair Play SC reported damage to her vehicle in which the passenger side front fender appeared to have been kicked twice causing a large dent. Damage was estimated at $1000.

July 12 – Raderick Lee Gosnell, 20, 19 Parker St,. Williamston was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and outstanding warrant with Belton after officers observed a green van in Mineral Spring Park. The driver of the vehicle, Nathaniel Alexander, no additional info provided, was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. Another passenger in the van, Krista Page, no additional info provided, had an active warrant for simple possession of marijuana with Anderson City. S. N. Robison investigated.

July 12 – Johnny Leon Stargel, Jr., 30, 215 Johnson Ln., Piedmont was arrested for criminal domestic violence after Haley Brett Potter, 21, 7 Ridley St., Williamston came to the WPD and told officers her boyfriend had assaulted her. Officers went to the residence at 7 Ridley and arrested Stargel. R. Drennon investigated.

July 12 – Devin Carl Bryant, 47, 160 Effie Dr., Piedmont was arrested for shoplifting after officers were dispatched to 526 West Main St., in reference to a shoplifter. According to reports a white male with camo pants took two bags of M&Ms valued at $6 and attempted to leave without paying for the items. Z. T. Parks investigated.

July 13 – Johnny Leon Stargel, Jr., 30, of Piedmont was arrested again for domestic violence after officers were dispatched to 7 Ridley St,. in reference to a domestic dispute. According to reports, Haley Brett Potter, 21, of 7 Ridley St,. and her boyfriend Stargel, with which she has a child in common, got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. The incident happened shortly after returning to the location after Potter picked up Stargel from the ACDC where he was incarcerated from an incident the day before. Sgt. K. J. Winn, Cpl. L. E. July 13 – Matthew Brennen Davis, 25, 305 Mauldin St, Williamston was arrested for driving under suspension after officers observed him driving a vehicle on Mauldin St. knowing he was driving on a suspended license. J. Sargent investigated.
