The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Emergency Services Division, would like to remind county residents that calling 911 is reserved for Emergencies Only. The department asks that you do not call 911 for downed trees or power lines unless there are people injured or trapped as a result of the lines and/or trees.

Anderson County 911 processed just under 900 calls in a 24 hour period as a result of the storm on July 19, 2015 and are asking your help to lower that number.

For power outages or power line problems, Duke Power customers may call 1-800-POWERON (1-800-769-3766) and Blue Ridge Power customers may call 1-888-BLUE-RIDGE (1-888-258-3743).

Citizens can also contact the Sheriff’s Office via our non-emergency line at 864-260-4444, but we strongly urge individuals NOT to call 911 for downed lines and trees.
