Greenville County investigating armed robbery of pizza driver

Greenville County Deputies are investigating an armed robbery of a pizza delivery driver Wednesday. According to reports, at approximately 9:45 pm deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office were searching for several subjects that were suspected of committing the armed robbery earlier in the day.

Deputies located a vehicle occupied by several individuals near the intersection of Staunton Bridge Rd and Lakeside Rd. that they believed to be involved in the earlier incident. As deputies approached the car, the driver put the car in motion and struck two patrol cars, still occupied by the deputies.

The subjects fled on foot in the area and deputies were able to apprehend the passenger. With the assistance of Highway Patrol, Canine Units, and the Air Support Unit, deputies continued to search the area for the driver of the vehicle.

At approximately 11:40 pm, deputies were conducting a follow up search at one of the apartments located at 1 Lakeside Rd (Grove Station Apartments) when the driver of the vehicle from the earlier incident exited an apartment and fled on foot once again. Deputies pursued the driver and with the assistance of a Canine Deputy and his partner were able to apprehend him.

One of the deputies involved in the collision was transported with non life threatening injuries. Once additional information is available concerning suspect identity, warrants, and mug shots it will be made available to everyone.
