Spring Water Festival coming up August 21-22

Organizers of the Spring Water Festival are finalizing plans for the annual event which is only three weeks away.

The family friendly two day festival, celebrating their 34th year, will be held August 21 and 22 in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park and will feature more than 100 craft and business vendors, the area’s largest antique and classic auto show, kids activities, amusement rides, live music and other special attractions. Vendors offer a variety of delicious festival food items and specialties with some new offerings.

The festival will kick off on Friday night with Beach Music by the Carolina Coast Band,featuring nonstop, energetic Carolina beach and shag music as well as a flavor of party music and oldies.

Entertainment on Saturday will include the Royal Scotsmen Band, Blue Sky Band, Jake Bartley Band, Rockabilly group Honey and the Hot Rods and headliner Austin Webb. The all day gospel stage will feature award winning gospel group Eternal Vision from Knoxville Tennessee along with 12 others.

Eternal Vision has performed with the National Quartet Convention to an audience of over 30,000 at the National Quartet Convention and have been nominated for more than 40 “Fan Favorite” awards. In 2006, they won 5 “Fan Favorite” awards at SGM Fanfare. They have performed at Dollywood’s Harvest and Gospel Music Celebration for 4 years in a row.

Also appearing on the Gospel stage will be New Hope Youth,Craig Ledford, Alfa Y Omega, Debbie Williams, Echoes of Mercy, Living Truth, Chosen Few, Reggie Blackwell. Also Fresh Fire, Donavan Wells, Gary Hart & Hartstrings and Catlin Tierce.

Organizers are still accepting craft vendor applications. Any local vendor interested in participating in the event can pick up an application and guidelines at The Journal office or the Spring Water Festival website at www.springwaterfestival.com.
