Stating you have an outstanding warrant

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office Economic Crimes Unit has recently taken reports from several people who have received spam emails advising they have outstanding warrants for their arrest from federal agencies. The emails are instructing people to call a number and purchase a money card with a certain dollar amount, and then provide the money card number to them. Investigators are warning residents not to fall for the scan. They also ask anyone who has been a victim of this type of scam to call 864-467-5240, to speak with an investigator.
