Sexual assault suspect arrested in Hendersonville

Antwon Marcees RogersresA man wanted in connection with a sexual assault and theft of a vehicle incident Sunday in Greenville County has been arrested in Hendersonville, NC.

According to reports, the incident began at a Dollar General store in Pickens County where the victim was sexually assaulted at gunpoint and forced into the trunk of her vehicle. The suspect was identified as Antwon Marcees Rogers. According to reports, Rogers drove from Pickens County to Greenville County with the victim in the trunk of her vehicle. Once in Greenville County, Rogers again sexually assaulted the victim and left her on the side of the road and fled the area in the victim’s vehicle.

At approximately 5:10 am Sunday (Aug. 9) the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from a resident near Old Dunham Bridge Road regarding a female who had been sexually assaulted and had her vehicle stolen

Investigators notified the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office and advised them the victim was being treated at a local hospital.

Both agencies worked together into the early morning hours on Monday collecting evidence and gathering information surrounding this incident which crossed jurisdictional boundaries. The victim’s vehicle was placed on NCIC and BOLO’s were sent out to surrounding agencies.

The vehicle was located at a motel in Hendersonville,

NC and Rogers was also located at the motel and was arrested by the Hendersonville Police Department. He is currently being held at the Hendersonville County Detention Center awaiting extradition back to Greenville County. Rogers currently has an active warrant for Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st degree with Greenville County related to this incident and additional charges are pending, officials said.
