Community Charrette Underway – Town Hall meeting tonight

Residents of Williamston and the surrounding communities are invited to a Town Hall meeting tonight as apart of the Envision Williamston Community Charrette that will be underway today through Thursday.

The Town of Williamston, in conjunction with a team of consultants led by Arnett Muldrow and Associates, will be conducting the charrette or design workshop. 

“As part of the ongoing Envision Williamston Community Plan project, the goal of the charrette is to provide Williamston with an ongoing, flexible work plan to guide revitalization and economic development efforts in the town,” said Tee Coker,  a Senior Associate with Arnett Muldrow and Associates of Greenville who will facilitate the charrette. He will also be assisted by Randy Wilson, President of Community Design Solutions of Columbia.

Other charrette team members include Blake Sanders with Alta Planning + Design of Greenville, Andy Sherard with Site Design, Inc. of Greenville, and Andy Kalback of Mahan Rykiel Associates of Baltimore.

Envision Williamston Community Plan – Charrette Schedule

On Tuesday, Aug. 25, the team will meet at 9 a.m. at the Town Hall: Conference Room and will then conduct a driving tour of Williamston and the surrounding area. They will also have a brief coordination meeting with Steering Committee.

At 12 noon there will be a Property Owner’s Workshop in the Pink Room at Town Hall. During the afternoon there will be property owner site visits.

At 4 p.m. member of the team will conduct a walking tour of downtown and will be taking photos, field measurements, etc.

At 6:30 p.m. a Williamston Town Hall Input Meeting will be held in the Pink Room.

On Wednesday, Aug. 26 there will be meetings with Appalachian Council of Governments (ACOG), Anderson County (Demolition Grant and more property owner site visits.

Team members will look at Community Mapping, Dining Guide and Available Properties

There will be a Team Meeting to discuss direction and assignments.

On Thursday morning, Aug. 27, team members will work on a Status Update and Final Pre-Production Coordination Meeting

A Final Presentation will be made to the public and anyone interested at 6:30 p.m. in the Pink Room at Town Hall.
