Members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, which includes Anderson County deputies, recently located and arrested one of Anderson County’s Most Wanted suspects.

James Marion Davis, 57, was taken into custody Monday without incident from a residence in Greenwood, and transported to the Anderson County Detention Center, where he awaits a bond hearing.

Davis is accused of attempting to assault his estranged wife on May 26, 2015 by viciously striking her occupied vehicle with a large blunt object. Davis reportedly shattered the vehicle’s windshield on both the driver and passenger side and severely damaged the door frames on both sides of the vehicle. The victim was able to flee the scene and was not physically injured.

“October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and each year South Carolina ranks in the top U.S. States for violence against women”, stated Sheriff John Skipper. “There is no excuse for domestic violence but, be aware, if you resort to this type of violence in Anderson County, we will do our best to find you and bring you to justice”, he added.
