Randall Gene Posey, Jr., 26, 106 Lane Dr., Easley was arrested Wednesday, Nov. 4 and charged with manslaughter in connection with the Sept. 17 shooting death of Jonathan Murriel Black, 29, of 2 Coker Circle Williamston.
The incident occurred at 2910 Hwy. 86, Piedmont.
Posey was taken into custody at the time, however the sheriff’s office did not release his name as the incident remained under investigation.
According to the incident report, when deputies arrived at the bar location parking lot, Posey was kneeling next to Black who was bleeding from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the chest. Posey, who had a firearm in a holster on his side, was disarmed. He stated he was being assaulted and was acting in self defense.
