CHARLES ‘DUDE’ DAVIS, LINDA ELLISON, TONY SUTTLES, WILLIAM FIELDS, SANDRA RICHEY

CHARLES ‘DUDE’ DAVIS

PELZER – Charles “Dude” Russell Davis, 81, husband of Jean Griffith Davis, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late, Russell and Mildred Lollis Davis. He retired from Gaylord Box Company and was a member of Bessie Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Dale Davis of Piedmont; daughters, Debbie Byars, Sherry Worthy, Sandy Prather, all of Pelzer and Kim Derych of Powdersville; step-son, Bobbie Hembree of Pelzer; siblings, James “Pat” Davis of Piedmont, Connie  Kirby of Pelzer and Ray “Butch” Davis of Piedmont; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by siblings, Bobby Davis and Donnie Davis; step-son, Steve Hembree.

Visitation was held 2:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, November 8 at Bessie Road Baptist Church.

The service followed at 3:00 pm at the church.

Entombment was at Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

LINDA ELLISON

BELTON – Linda Ann Herndon Ellison, 69, wife of Ray Ellison, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Graham and Inez Vickery Herndon.  She was a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church and worked at the church daycare for thirty-four years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Tracy Lollis of Williamston, Melissa Hood (Tommy) of Powdersville; grandchildren, Drew and Anna Hood, Cassidy and Kennedy Lollis, Sydney and Zach Bracken; brothers, Harry Reeves of Sinton, TX, Eddie Herndon of Anderson; best friends for over 50 years, Sylvia Williams and Gloria Thompson, both of Belton.

The family received friends from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, services followed at 3:00 p.m.  Burial was held in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 13024 Hwy 20, Belton, SC 29627.

TONY SUTTLES

Tony Morrell Suttles, 54, of Easley, husband of Beverly Ryals Suttles, died Monday, November 9, 2015 in Hickory, NC.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Morrell Edward and Mary Owens Suttles. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents of Greenville are children, Sandra Bramblett, Megan Moore, Maranda McDowell, Damian Moore all of Easley; siblings, Tracy Suttles of Piedmont, Tommy Suttles  and Diane Stewart of Pelzer, Donna  Baxter of Greenville; and nine grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

WILLIAM FIELDS

Ret. T/Sgt. William “Gene” “Bill” Fields, of Belton, husband of Martha Sheriff Fields died Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Williamston to the late Selma Fields, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired from BASF.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Danny Fields of Belton, Mike Fields of Belton; daughter, Martha Gail Nicholson of Belton; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Nov. 8 at Sosebee Mortuary and Crematory South Chapel. Burial followed at Garden of Memories in Belton.

SANDRA RICHEY

Sandra Dianne Black Richey, 64, of Piedmont, died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Capstone Health and Rehab in Easley.

She was born in Anderson to the late W.E. and Mauldeen Alexander Looper.

She is survived by two daughters, Theresa Dye of Piedmont and Melanie Harris of Anderson; one son, Kevin Harris of Anderson; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Debra McCall of Abbeville; two brothers, Jackie Black of Piedmont and John Looper of Charleston.

She was predeceased by her husband, Danny Richey.

A graveside service was held Nov. 10 at New Silver Brook Cemetery in Anderson.
