The West Allen Williams Heritage and Old Time Music Festival will be held this Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 am until 7 pm at The Artory at 123 Gossett St, Williamston.. Admission is free. There will be tables exhibiting local history and Southern Smoke Barbecue will provide food. There will be live stage entertainment scheduled as follows:
10:00 – Whitten City News- performing a mix of old time sacred and secular music
11:00 – Philip Cheney – regional living history- singer- performer
12:00 – Local District 1 Strings students under the direction of Mrs. Candace Ramirez
1:00 – Civil War Dance Demonstration – 2nd SC/ Butler Guard Reenactors
2:00 – Timeless Devotion Choir – performing old time hymns
3:00 – Jack and the Curiosity Pickers- Jack Ellenburg and crew perform a mix of old time and Bluegrass music
4:00 – Great Grandma’s Strawberry Jam – closing session- a mix of performers from several local groups combine for an old time jam session.
