Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated the following incidents:

EASLEY

Dec. 4 – S.L. Steward responded to the CVS Pharmacy at 3460 Hwy. 153 where the store manager reported that a white male and black male had entered the store.The white male stole a quantity of laundry detergent while the black male caused a distraction. The loss was estimated at $40.

Dec. 5 – J.M. Culbertson responded to the WalMart at 11410 Anderson Rd. where he placed John Stewart, WM, 44, 6’1″, 220 pounds, of Easley under arrest for attempting to steal two 32 inch televisions. A records check subsequently revealed that Stewart was wanted on a probation violation in Pickens County. He was transported to ACDC.

Dec. 6 – T.K. Cook responded to the WalMart where he placed Dustin Clement, WM, 29, 5’10″, 200 pounds, of Easley, under arrest for stealing several items valued at $55. He was transported to ACDC.

Dec. 6 – S.S. Barnes was dispatched to the WalMart where she placed Angie Padgett, WF, 20, 5’1″, 160 pounds, of Easley, under arrest for stealing several items valued at approximately $55. She was transported to ACDC.

Dec. 6 – Deputies J.M. Culbertson and T.K. Cook were both dispatched to Heatherwood Dr. in response to a series of car break-ins. At 306, Maxine Boyd reported the theft of several items of recently purchased clothing, valued at $200. At 308 Heatherwood, Robert Overstreet reported that someone had entered his pickup truck and stolen his Winchester Model 70, 30.06 caliber hunting rifle. Equipped with a Leupold 10 X 50mm scope, the gun was valued at $750. At 309, Bonnie Gilbert got off light, literally, as a small LED flashlight, valued at ten dollars, was all that was taken. At 310, Eugene English reported the loss of a hundred dollars in cash.

PELZER

Dec. 6 – J.K. Vickery responded to 1 Brock St. where Colleen Stilton reported that someone had thrown a brick bat through a window in her home doing approximately $75 worth of damage.

PIEDMONT

Dec. 4 – D.J. Petit responded to the intersection of Bryant Road and Old River Road in reference to an incident involving an EMS unit. Upon arrival, he found Charles Lister Jr. ,WM, 45, 6′, 245 pounds, brn/hazel, of Pelzer, behind the wheel of his 1994 Mustang, with his head down on his chest. A witness who made the original complaint said that he came upon the vehicle stopped in the road, with Lister passed out. The witness called EMS, who arrived and briefly roused Lister who became combative. Petit managed to revive Lister and asked him to exit the car for further examination by the EMS personnel. Petit detected no odor of alcohol, but Lister was unable to speak clearly or stand up without leaning on the car. He was also carrying a .32 caliber revolver on his person. He was taken into custody for unlawful carry of a firearm and public disorderly conduct.

Dec. 5 – K.D. Lollis was on patrol in the area of Old Williamston Rd. and Westridge North when he stopped a driver for failure to use a turn signal. While talking to the driver, Nahum Alexander, WM, 17, 6’1″, 170 pounds, of Piedmont, he detected a strong odor of marijuana. A subsequent search found approximately 6 grams of marijuana and a set of digital scales. Alexander admitted to possessing the drugs and scales, resulting in his passenger, Bailey Andrew Johnson, being released, while Alexander was charged with simple possession. A subsequent license check revealed that his license was suspended also. He was transported to ACDC.

Dec. 5 – J.K. Vickery responded to the Fred’s store at 908 Anderson Rd. where the manager reported that the front door had been shattered by someone pushing a cart through it. The damage was estimated at $600, but there was no estimate of the loss to theft.
