MARGARET ELLIS

WILLIAMSTON – Margaret Sue Campbell Ellis, 89, wife of Marvin E. Ellis, passed away Friday, January 1, 2016.

Born in the Whitefield Community of Williamston, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Maude Cox Campbell. She worked fifty years for Kendall Company and B.C. Moores. She was a member of Whitefield Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband of 71 years, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Donna Ellis of Williamston; sister Ruth Lundsford of Kernsville, NC; grandchildren, Susan Elgin (Neal) of Chapin, Russell Ellis (Cindy) of Sylva, NC, Jeff Ellis (Donna) of Seneca, and  Richard and Brad (Regina) Ellis, both of Greenville; nine great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by son, Marvin E. Ellis, Jr.; great-grandson, Ian Hayes; six brothers; two sisters.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, January 3 at Whitefield Baptist Church.

The service followed at 3:00 pm in the church.

Burial was at Whitefield Baptist Church Cemetery.

‘GUS’ HARRIS

Augustine Smythe “Gus” Harris, Jr., 75, of Pelzer, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015.

Born in Pendleton, he was the son of the late Augustine Smythe, Sr. and Ellen Estelle Maddox Harris.  He was retired from Kemet.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include daughters, Tammy Weber of Spartanburg and Crystal Heidinger  of Locust Grove, GA; son, Thomas Harris of Key Largo, FL; sister, Mary Ellen Thompson of Warner Robbins, GA; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the Chapel of Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

JIMMY ROY PRICE

Jimmy Roy Price, 80, of Anderson, died December 28, 2015.

Born in Mize, GA, he was a son of the late Rothell and Nancy Jane Dickson Price.

He and his wife Marjouies were owners and operators of Price’s Meat Processing.

He was a member of Middleton Road Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Ronnie Price of Fountain Inn, John Price of Anderson; three daughters, Bonnie Price Moore of Antreville, Jimme Rhonda Gibbs of Pelzer, and Nickie Renee Williams of Lewisburg, TN; two brothers, Robert Price of Anderson and Harold Price of Nicholson, GA; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 31 at Middleton Road Baptist Church. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

ANITA LEE

Anita Jeannette Simpson Lee, 82, wife of the late J. Don Lee, Sr., died Monday, December 28, 2015.

Born in Piedmont, she was the daughter of the late Robert Dewitt and Lois Mayer Simpson. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Lois Lee Spurlock of Piedmont; brothers, Jack Simpson of Greenwood and Al Simpson of Piedmont; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 31 at Shiloh United Methodist Church. Burial was held Jan. 2 at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

WILLIAM ‘KEITH’ AUSTIN

William “Keith” Austin, 40, of Belton, died Monday, December 21, 2015 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was the son of John and Loretta Austin Jordan.

He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Williamston

Surviving are his wife, Christie Austin of Anderson; son, Austin Vaughn of Williamston; daughter, Shanna Austin of Belton; brothers, Joshua Austin of Williamston, Gary Eades of Anderson, Keith Jordan of Belton, and Tim Jordan of Starr; sisters, Margaret Smith of Iva, Danielle Caldwell and Tonya Austin, both of Williamston; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 26 at Pelzer City Cemetery.

TIMOTHY ‘TIM’ TAYLOR

Timothy Paul Taylor, 57, of Spartanburg, died December 30, 2015 at Pelham Medical Center in Greer.

Born in Anderson, he was the son of the late John Paul Taylor and Doris Cox Taylor. He worked as a surgical technician.

He is survived by four sisters, Becky Taylor Lollis of Starr, Helen Taylor Fleming of Hartwell, GA, Angie Taylor Allen of Pelzer, and Katie Taylor Lewis of Anderson.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 3  in the Chapel of McDougald Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Anderson Humane Society, 407 Pearman Dairy Rd., Anderson, SC 29625.

C VINCENT FLETCHER

C. Vincent Fletcher, 80, husband of Sue Sloan Fletcher, died Thursday, December 31, 2015 in Easley.

Born in Piedmont, he was the son of the late William Henry Fletcher and Daisy Mae Barton Fletcher.

He retired from H. T. Hackney Co., and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his brother, Robert Fletcher of Anderson; and sister, Sybil Traynum of Piedmont.

Funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 3 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Entombment followed in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
