SC Hwy. Patrol reports 92 deaths on highways in 2016

As of February 15, 92 people have died on South Carolina highways, compared to 120 highway deaths during the same time period in 2015. Of the 65 motor vehicle occupants who have died in 2016, 35 were not wearing safety belts. Through midnight February 15, 14 pedestrians died compared to 21 in 2015; six motorcyclists died compared to nine in 2015; and four bicyclists died compared to two in 2015 on state roads and highways. Anderson County has had six highway related fatalites so far in 2016.
