Pedestrian fatality – I85

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore along with Wren firefighters work at the scene where a Hartwell Georgia man was killed early Sunday morning on I-85. The man was walking in the roadway near the thirty-nine mile marker north bound when he was struck by an SUV and killed. The driver of the SUV was not injured. According to reports, Adrian Sanchez Macedo, 32, had exited from a Southbound van after becoming upset and jumped over the concrete median and was standing in the northbound lane closest to the median when he was stuck by a 2000 Jeep driving by Christopher M. Willingham, 31, of Anderson around 1:45 a.m. Macedo died of blunt force trauma, according to Shore. Pelzer EMS and Powdersville firefighters also responded to the call. (Photo by David Rogers)
