Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:

Mar. 8 – Danardis Jamont Kilgo, 35, 101 Crawford St, Williamston was arrested for outstanding warrant after officers observed him standing in the front yard of a house on Ellison St. Kilgo had two active bench warrants for failing to appear in court and for running at large. He was arrested and transported to ACDC withou incident. K. Anthony investigated.

Mar. 8 – Charles Bain, 57, 210 S. Green St., Williamston was arrested for outstanding fugitive warrant with the State of Indiana. The original offense in Indiana is a felony with a penalty of one year or more. He was transported to ACDC and placed on a temporary hold. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Mar. 9 – Greenville County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in the arrest of Tyrekus Lavanzer Blanding, 22, 309 E. Carolina St,. Williamston after officers responded to E. Carolina St. in reference to a fight in progress and shots fired.

According to reports, two people in a silver vehicle had come to the apartments to get a vehicle that Blanding, also known as “Scoop,” had taken. One of the people in the vehicle stated that when she asked for the keys, there was an argument and “Scoop” pulled out a handgun and started shooting at the car.

A white 2008 Chevrolet Impala found parked near the apartments had the front drivers door open and officers found six spent shell casings in the roadway, however Blanding was not found in the area.

Greenville County Sheriff’s Office assisted in checking a residence that Blanding was known to stay and did take him into custody. He was transported to the county line and turned over to Williamston Police Department. Blanding was charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. A statement was taken and he was transported to ACDC without incident. R. Drennon investigated.

Mar. 9 – Officers were dispatched to EZ Trip, 934 Anderson Drive, in reference to an assault. Kenneth Smith, 29, 344A Wesley Ellison Road, Williamston reported being assaulted by a man in a white work van who jumped out and screamed at him. According to reports the man, identified as the new boyfriend of Smith’s child’s mother, pushed Smith in the head area. Officers were to speak with a magistrate about the incident. M. Beeman investigated.

Mar. 11 – Officers reported vandalism at the town’s old Water Treatment Plant on College St. in which several windows were broken. Damage was estimated at $500. M. E. Simmons investigated.

Mar. 11 – Officers investigated an incident at the Career And Technology Center in which a car was seen doing donuts (spinning tires and damaging grass) in an open field to the right of the building. There was also an area which appeared to be what was left of a large fire. Damage was estimated at $200. G. Cremer investigated.

Mar. 11 – Michael Chohran King III, 16 Brown St., Williamston was arrested for motor vehicle theft and simple assault after officers were dispatched to Belton Dr., in reference to an assault. According to reports, Janice Bell, 39, 16 Brown St., Williamston reported her boyfriend punched her in the left eye and choked her while she was driving. She managed to stop the 2004 Ford Expedition on Anderson Drive, get out and walked away. King got in the driver’s seat and began driving along side Bell as she walked. She went to a residence on Belton Drive and asked a female to call police. King left in the vehicle which was valued at $8,000. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Mar. 12 – S. N. Robison responded to assist in a shooting incident at Cheers and Spirits in Belton after Central Dispatch asked for officers to respond due to a large crowd. According to reports, one patient was being transported with two gunshot wounds and several vehicles were struck by bullets. S. N. Robison responded.

Mar. 14 – Officer investigated an incident of harassment involving two 17 year old females. According to reports, the harassment has been ongoing since middle school and continued through high school. An incident Mar. 7 at the Career and Technology Center in which a vehicle was cut off resulting in driving privileges being suspended. There were other incidents reported. The person accused of harassment was contacted by officers and told any future contact would be considered harassment and charges could be filed. J. Sargent investigated.

Mar. 14 – Elizabeth Florance Greco, 28, 31 McAlister St,. Williamston, reported a Honda 5hp pressure washer stolen from her front yard. The item was valued at $500. R. Drennon investigated.

Mar. 15 – Officers attempted to stop a gold Mercury Grand Marquis after it was observed at Greenville Drive and Hamilton Street with an expired tag. When Officer Robison exited his vehicle, the suspect vehicle took off at a high rate of speed. Due to other people being in the vehicle and extreme speed Central Dispatch was notified that the pursuit was being discontinued. The incident occurred on North Hamilton St. S. N.
