Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival & Cookoff this weekend

The annual Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cookoff will be held this Friday and Saturday, May 13-14 in Williamston’s Mineral Spring Park. Activities will begin on Friday at 12 noon and go until 9 p.m. There will be barbecue and food sales, craft vendors and a children’s play area. Entertainment by Karen Grant and Big Spike Hammer.

On Saturday, activities begin at 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. There will be food sales, craft/sales vendors, children’s play area. entertainment featuring The Smiling Ducks. Judging of BBQ begins at 10 a.m. Presentation of BBQ Championship Awards will be at 2:30 p.m.

At 10:45 am on Saturday, Williamston Masonic Lodge will be selling wrist bands to sample all-you-can-eat barbecue for $10. Beginning at 11 am, the wrist band will allow you to get a two ounce sample of barbecue from each competitor at their location and will continue as long as barbecue lasts. No samples will be given out without a wrist band.

Pig in the Park Barbecue Festival and Cook-Off is a charity event with net proceeds going to Christian Learning Center, Operation Care and Williamston Masonic Lodge No 24.
