Rachel Wyatt of Piedmont, competing as Miss Clemson, was crowned Miss South Carolina Saturday night in Columbia. The 21-year-old is a graduate of Wren High School and attends Clemson University. She performed a jazz dance in the talent competition Saturday night. Wyatt was also Miss SC Teen and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen 2013. She will compete in the Miss America Pageant September 11, 2016 in Atlantic City. Her platform is Enriching the Lives of Special Needs Adults.
Brooklyn Brewster of Williamston won the Miss SC Teen Talent preliminary last Tuesday with a baton routine. Competing as Miss Anderson County Teen, she finished in the top 10 out of 62 contestants in the Miss SC Teen pageant. Brewester was also awarded the Duke of Edinburgh award, Presidential Service Award, and Preliminary talent award winner with a $500 savings bond. Brewster attends Palmetto High School and is a featured twirler for the Palmetto High Marching Regiment band. She was also named Miss Sophmore at Palmetto. Brooklyn is the daughter of Lisa Brewster of Williamston. Grandparents Larry and Joyce Coker of Pelzer.
Miss Clemson Teen Makayla Stark of Inman was crowned Miss SC Teen on Friday night.
