ROBERTA STONE, MATTHEW MARK HESTER, PAUL WRIGHT, CHARLES ROBERTS, MARTHA COOK, DON ELLISON, MARTHA GENTRY

ROBERTA STONE

WILLIAMSTON – Roberta Katherine Cramer Stone, 70, formerly of Williamston, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016.

Born in San Jose, CA, she was a daughter of the late Robert John and Katherine Arthea Cochran Cramer.  She was retired from Michelin and was a CNA at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. She was a member of the Pelzer Church of God.

Survivors include daughter, Karen Black; son, Stephen Stone; sisters, Ann Barlesi, Izetta Carpenter, Natalie Anderson, Wendy Gordon; grandchildren, Katherine Black, Jacob Black, Brendan Edens, Luke Edens, Reid Stone, Robbie Black; great-grandson, Briar Black.

She was predeceased by son, Mickey Edens; sister, Virginia Slaton; grandson, Jonathan Black.

Visitation was held from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Saturday, July 23, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

The funeral service was 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at the Pelzer Church of God. Burial  followed at Pine Lawn Cemetery, Pelzer.

MATTHEW MARK HESTER

Matthew Mark Hester, 20, of Piedmont, died July 15, 2016.

He is survived by his parents, David Wayne and Peggy Henry Hester of Piedmont; brother, Brantley Hester of Powdersville.

Graveside service was held July 25 at Graceland West.

PAUL WRIGHT

Paul Edward Wright, 82, of Williamston, husband of the late Ina “Sue” Darnell Wright, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016.

Born in Boyd County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Milroy Edward and Irene Dameron Wright. He was a retired U.S. Army and Air Force veteran.

Survivors include son, Eddie Wright; daughter, Vicki Palmer; brother, Earl Wright; sisters, Wanda Salisbury and Janet Cook; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

The service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, July 28, at the Greenville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel. The family will greet friends following the service.

CHARLES ROBERTS

PELZER – Charles G. Roberts, 88, husband of Betty Jean Roberts, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016.

He was a World War II and Korean War veteran, a supervisor with Kendall Company for many years and as a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, he held numerous offices. He played baseball with the textile teams and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Gene Roberts of Pelzer; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Kay and David Hamilton of Powdersville; granddaughter, Lori Hamilton of Travelers Rest.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:00 pm on Saturday, July 23 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Pelzer followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church, P.O. Box 268, Pelzer, SC 29669.

MARTHA COOK

Martha June Lollis Pridmore Cook, 85, of Pelzer, widow of McDonald Cook, died July 21, 2016.

She was twice married, first to the late Harold D. Pridmore.

She was a daughter of the late Rufus T. Lollis and Susie Boggs Lollis.

She is survived by sons, Thomas D. Lollis and Teddy D. Pridmore; daughter, Elaine Liles; sister, Louree Clardy Kelly; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

A graveside service was held Monday at Greenville Memorial Gardens with visitation following at the graveside.

Memorials may be made to McCall Hospice House, 1836 W. Georgia Rd., Simpsonville, SC 29680 or to the charity of one’s choice.

DON ELLISON

Donald “Don” Richard Ellison, 68, of Belton, husband of Mona Crawford Ellison, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at his home.

Born in Anderson, he was a son of the late Walter Lester and Ethel Holland Ellison.  He was former owner/operator of Circle E Towing and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his wife of the home, he is survived by son, Chad Ellison of the home; sisters, Jane Cothran of Anderson, Dot Dickerson and Bobbie Brooks, both of Williamston; brothers, David Ellison of Williamston, Wade Ellison, Wendell Ellison, Alton Ellison, all of Cheddar.

A graveside service was held  Wednesday, July 27, at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery with visitation following at the graveside.

MARTHA GENTRY

Martha Lollis Gentry, 86, of Pelzer, wife of Willman Gentry, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at her home.

Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Grady and Lois Lollis.  She was retired from Dunean Mill and a member of Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters, Marsha Wasson, Jeanie Gilliam, Wanda Howard; sister, Sara Patterson; brothers, Joe, John “Pa”, and Jimmy Lollis; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service was held Wednesday, July 27, at Bethel Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith.  Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
