Williamston Police Officers investigated the following incidents:

Aug. 28 – Susan Lynn Watkins, 56, 110 G. St., Williamston reported giving Dana Edward Wright, 247 Longview Dr., $100 to obtain a trailer to help her move. Reports state Wright never retuned with the cash or the trailer. T. L. Eichelberger investigated.

Sept. 5 – Danny Tyrone Hairston, 49, 107 Middleton Blvd., Williamston reported vandalism to his 2012 Ford F-150 truck. According to reports, he stated that while driving away from his parking lot, his wife Laura Hairston did deliberately hold out a key in her hand against the driver’s side of his vehicle creating a scratch down most of the length of the vehicle. Damage was estimated at $14,000. He did not want to press charges and filled out a complaint withdrawal form. Class 3 B. Peterson was reporting officer.

Sept. 6 – Ashley Dawn Lawson, 27, 108 W 2nd St., Williamston was arrested for driving under suspension after a vehicle was observed traveling 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. Lawson was transported to ACDC without incident. The vehicle was towed. Z. T. Parks investigated.

Sept. 7 – Officers investigated an incident of several signs being attached to power and phone pole in violation of signage restrictions ordinance. The signs were removed and a female contacted at one of the numbers on the sign said she would take care of it. M. E. Eddleman investigated.

Sept. 8 – Officer M. Crowe investigated a vandalism incident in which six headstones in the Williamston Cemetery were damaged. Two headstones in the Cox plot were damaged, one headstone in the Campbell plot and three unknown headstones were damaged. Total damage was estimated at $2000.

Sept. 7 – Wesley Jevon Sloan, Jr., 36, 313 E. Carolina St., Williamston was arrested for two outstanding warrants with Anderson County after officers were dispatched to 307 E. Carolina St., in reference to a threat complaint. Sloan was arrested and transported to Hwy. 29 where he was turned over to Anderson City police. R. Drennon investigated.

Sept. 9 – Barbara Ann Levy, 70, 14 Dacus St., Williamston reported Dana Edward Wright, 247 Longview Dr, borrowed a Stihl chainsaw and never returned it. The saw is valued at $250. Officers were seeking a warrant for breach of trust. K. Anthony investigated.

Sept. 9 – John Danial Smith, 29, 511 Gossett Dr., Williamston reported being assaulted in his home by his wife’s boyfriend. Judge Lollis denied a warrant for simple assault due to lack of probable cause for the warrant. The incident remains under investigation.
