MARGARET FAILOR

Margaret C. Failor, 79, of Williamston, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sept.11 2016.

Memorial services will be held 4pm Sunday Sept. 25, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church, 42 E Main St, Williamston, SC 29697  with the Rev. Tim Whited & Rev. Kempie Shepard officiating.

She is survived by her husband George; children, George Jr. (Sherry) of Taylors, Cindy Vaughn (Roger) of Honea Path, Ron (Vickie) of Greenville, and Don (Brenda) of Williamston, nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

JAMES REESE

James Blyth Reese, 86, of West Pelzer, widower of Evonne McCall Reese, died Thursday, September 15, 2016.

Born in Pelzer, he was the son of the late Leroy Ralph and Rilla McGinnis Reese.

He was retired from the Kendall Company and Cryovac. He was a member of the Pelzer Church of God.

Surviving are daughter, Kathy Mitchell of Florida.

Graveside service was held Monday, Sept. 19 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.

FAYE OWENS BEAM

Faye Owens Beam, 96, of Piedmont, died September 12, 2016.

Born in Greenwood County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Frederick and Julia Boland Rampey.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She worked in the family owned Shell service station in Piedmont and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Furman B. Owens, Sr.; and second husband, Jim Beam.

Memorial services were held Sunday, Sept. 18 at Mackey Mortuary.

JAMES CHAPMAN

James Francis Chapman, 88, of Honea Path, husband of Beulah Burgess Chapman died Friday, September 16, 2016 at his home.

He was twice married, first to the late Ruby Mae Center Chapman.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Robert Rhodes and Elizabeth Chapman Whitfield.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Owens Corning. He was a member of Dry Oak Assembly of God.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jerry Wayne Chapman of Seneca and William Michael Chapman of Simpsonville; daughter, Jannette Chapman Moss of Belton; step-children, Albert Orvin of Waterloo, Barbara Crawford of Fountain Inn, and Katrina Hall of Belton; brothers, Thomas Ross of CA, Jack Ross of GA, and Randall Ross of Pelzer; sister, Mary Jarvis of FL; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday, Sept. 19 at Dry Oak Assembly of God. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

WILLIAM ‘BILLY’ CAMPBELL

William Mimms “Billy” Campbell, 75, of Pelzer, husband of Sandra Thrasher Campbell, died September 12, 2016.

He was a member of Cedar Shoals Baptist Church, a United States Navy Veteran and retired Chief of South Greenville Fire District.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Julia Altman (Dave); grandsons Campbell and Christian Altman and Sean Mills; granddaughter Madeline Altman; great-grandson Dietz Altman, brother Sam Campbell (Ann) and his lab Maggie.

He was predeceased by his parents George and Lucy Mimms Campbell.

A celebration of Life was held Friday, September 16 at 11 a.m. at Beech Springs Church, 125 Cooley Bridge Rd., Pelzer. Burial followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Thursday, September 15 at South Greenville Fire District Headquarters.

KEITH WATKINS, SR.

WILLIAMSTON – Keith Charles Watkins, Sr., 59, husband of Elizabeth “Beth” Waters Watkins, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2016.

Born in Louisburg, NC, he was the son of Charles Caudill and Lucille Wood Watkins. He retired after 27 years from NC Department of Corrections and was currently employed with Aviation Services at the Donaldson Center. He was a member of First Baptist Church Williamston and the Men’s Sunday School Class.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Keith Charles “K.C.” Watkins, Jr. (Karly) of West Pelzer, James and Charlie Watkins, both of the home; sister, Joy Watkins of Louisburg, NC; father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Georgia Waters.

Visitation was from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Tuesday, September 20, at First Baptist Church Williamston. A memorial service followed at 3:00 pm at the church.

RONALD LAVELL COBB

Ronald Lavell Cobb, 67, of Greenville, died September 11, 2016.

He was born in Greenville to Edna K. Cobb and the late J.W. Cobb.

He is survived by his son, Christopher Jay Cobb; daughter, Amanda Cobb Robertson; two brothers, Dr. Larry W. Cobb of Piedmont and H. Marett Cobb of Ft. Worth, TX; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

He served in the South Carolina House of Representatives and was a residential and commercial developer.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 17 in the Carpenter Chapel of Greenville First Baptist Church.

LILLIAN PEARL ‘POLLY’ SMITH SARRATT

Lillian Pearl “Polly” Smith Sarratt, of Gaffney, widow of Ibra C. Sarratt, died Saturday, September 10, 2016.

Born in Laurens County, she was the daughter of the late James “J.M.” and Lydie Coates Smith.

She was a member of Buford Street United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Sarratt of Atlanta, GA and Barbara Holmes of Piedmont; son, Jim Sarratt of Taylors; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at Buford Street United Methodist Church at 12:30 on Sunday, Sept. 25. A reception will be held at 11:30 at the Family Life Center.

HUGH T. BAILEY SR.

Hugh Toland Bailey, Sr., 88, of Liberty, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home.

Born in Florence, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Alma Marie Ball Bailey.

He was owner/operator of Bailey’s Jewelers in Easley.

He was a member of East Pickens Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Ann Taylor Bailey of the home; daughter, Kristen Bailey Lopez of Williamston; two sons, Hugh T. Bailey, Jr. of Greenville, and Brent Bailey of Easley; six grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Jean Link Bailey.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at East Pickens Baptist Church. Burial folowed at Liberty Memorial Gardens.

JAMES MARSHALL McDANIEL

James Marshall McDaniel, 46, of Pelzer, died Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home

Born in Bexar County, TX, he was the son of Joe Cornelius McDaniel of Anderson and the late Patricia Ridgeway McDaniel.

He was a veteran of the Army Reserves, formerly worked for Indexx Printing, and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

In addition to his father, he is survived by brother, Drew McDaniel of Kelso, WA; and sister, Eva Addison of Anderson.

Funeral service will be held Friday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family will be at the home of his sister, Eva Addison, 2604 Bellview Road, Anderson and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, Sept. 22 from 7 p.m until 8:30 p.m.
