Wren student arrested in assault incident

By Stan Welch – A 17-year old Wren student has been charged with assault following an incident that occurred on Sept. 16 at Wren High School.

According to reports, Bradley Kade Clardy of Piedmont was arrested by Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies for assault and battery in the third degree after allegedly stripping a 14 year old male student and forcing him to put on a cheerleader’s uniform. Warrants state the incident happened during school hours at the Wren High football fieldhouse and that it was caught on video.

Due to the victim’s age, no information on identity is available. According to Lt. Sheila Cole, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, the incident remains under investigation.

Clardy was booked into the Anderson County Detention Center on Friday and was released on a personal recognizance bond.
