The West Allen Williams Heritage and Old Time Music Festival will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 22 in the Artory. The event is sponsored by the Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center. There will be history displays, live music and food. It is free and open to the public.
Williamston area residents are welcome and encouraged to bring any articles, pictures or artifacts to share at this event. Tables can be rented for $10 each on the day of event. to display your artifacts, pictures and family history. You do not have to reserve a table.
Connie Barnwell will be one of those with a display and will have three ledgers dating back to 1829 with present day surnames. “You may see your ancestors name and what they purchased at a mercantile business of that period,” Barnwell said.
The Palmetto Arts and Cultural Center is located on Gossett St. in the old National Guard Armory.
