Area firefighters from Whitefield, West Pelzer, Cheddar and Powdersville Fire Departments worked throughout the week in Pickens County to help contain the Pinnacle Mountain fire. Fire engines, tankers, brush trucks and firefighters were requested through South Carolina Firefighter Mobilization to assist the South Carolina Forestry Commission and Holly Springs Fire Department (Pickens County) with structural fire protection, burnouts and water supply support.
