With production “Of Mice and Men”
The Mill Town Players acclaimed production of Of Mice and Men won most of the first place awards at the annual South Carolina Theatre Association Community Theatre Festival in Charleston recently. The production received First Place, Best Ensemble, Best Actor (Brock Koonce), Best Supporting Actor (Matthew Merritt), Best Set Design (Will Ragland), Best Lighting Design (Ashley Pittman), Best Costume Design (Sissy Beck), and Best Sound Design (AJ Weaver).
The team will go on to represent South Carolina in the Southeastern Theatre Conference Community Theatre Festival in Lexington, KY, in March to compete against nine other Southeastern states.
This is the second first place win for Mill Town Players in its three years of existence. The first was Dark of the Moon in 2014. Executive Artistic Director Will Ragland was also elected as the new Chair of the Community Theatre Division for the SC Theatre Association and will organize the festival next year in Aiken.
