Williamston Police Officers investigated the following indidents:

Nov. 15 – Kathy B. McCarter, 68, 801 Tripp St., reported vandalism to a 1997 Toyota truck. According to reports someone tried to stick an object in the door lock and the item had broken off inside the lock. Damage was estimated at $452.00. M. Beeman investigated.

Nov. 30 – Officers investigated a house fire at an abandoned residence at 305 Gossett Drive. According to reports there were tire tracks coming from the back of the residence and a ladder leaning up against the back of the residence leading to the top floor. Reports state the incident was arson. The case remains under investigation. K. Anthony investigated.

Jan. 28 – Barry Speer, 61, 24 Dove St,. Williamston reported his mother, Carolyn Webb may have been the victim of identity theft. Speer stated he had received a bill in the mail stating his mother owed the IRS $13,934.15. The incident was reported to the IRS and remains under investigation. Sgt. M. Eddleman investigated.

Dec. 3 – Officers were dispatched to 109 Parker St, Williamston in reference to a break-in. After investigating it was determined that the suspect, who was trying to make entry into the house, was related to the owner and he was released. Z. T. Parks investigated.

Dec. 4 – Officers were dispatched to a single vehicle accident at Minor St. and College Street in which a vehicle had struck a power pole. The power pole was broke in half and power lines were down on the roadway. The driver, Mike David Hooper, 55, 7 Guy St,. Pelzer informed officers that his license was suspended and he was taken by Medshore EMS to AnMed Hospital. He was issued a UTT for driving under suspension and driving too fast for conditions. Damage was estimated at $3,000. B. K. Creel investigated.

Dec. 2 – Vivian Garrett, 62, 200 Williams St., Williamston. reported a checkbook, two credit cards and a SC Identification card missing. M. Beeman investigated.

Dec. 5 – Pamela Phillips Childress, 59, 207 McDonald Ave., Williamston reported receiving threatening messages from her brother on her residential answering service. E. Bonnett investigated.
