Williamston police officers investigated the following incidents:
Jan. 29 – Karen Weaver Tomkins, 57, 117 Dickerson Rd., Williamston reported items taken from 517 Gossett Drive. Forced entry was gained through the back door causing damage. A lock on a building in the back was also pried open. Missing items included fishing equipment, tools, several pieces of furniture and collectable Pepsi items. The incident remains under investigation. B. K. Creel investigated.

Jan. 29 – Shirley Reid, 406 Shirley Rd,. Williamston reported vandalism in which two windows and siding were damaged at a residence at 112 West Main St. Damage was estimated at $2,000. Z. T. Parks investigated.
Jan. 29 – Tyler Lee Crook, 26, 111 Arden Rd., Pelzer was issued UTT citations for driving under suspension and manner of driving after officers observed a black Ford SUV traveling at a high rate of speed at Tripp St., and Mattison St. According to reports, the vehicle was going 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. B. K. Creel investigated.
Jan. 28 – Robin Lee White, 47, 139 Whites Dr., Pelzer was arrested for shoplifting at Ace Hardware, 29 Pelzer Ave., Williamston. According to reports when stopped after exiting the store, stolen items were found on her person and in her purse. White stated she put the things in her pocket but forgot to pay for them and walked out of the store. She was placed on trespass notice and issued a UTT for shoplifting, then transported to ACDC without incident. K. Anthony investigated.
Jan. 28 – Michelle Lynn Alewine, 43, 1704 Anderson Dr., Williamston reported a fraudulent check incident in which she received a letter from Bank of America stating that a check was fraudulently submitted to the bank in the amount of $46.28. Additional information was needed before a warrant could be sought. B. K. Creel investigated.
Jan. 27 – Rhonda Lynn Suttles, 51, 826 Joe Black Rd, #2, Williamston was arrested for shoplifting and drug violations after officers responded to Dollar General, 526 West Main St., Williamston in reference to a shoplifting incident. According to reports Suttles tried to take items valued at $27 from the store in her pocketbook. Two small baggies with a crystal like substance field tested as positive for meth and a glass pipe with burned residue was also found in the pocketbook. She was issued UTTs for shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia and transported to ACDC. At ACDC a clear cylinder container was found in her purse which contained a green leafy substance field tested positive for marijuana. She was issued a UTT for simple possession of the marijuana. A warrant was being obtained on the charge of possession of methamphetamine. K. Anthony investigated.
Jan. 30 – Cindy Cobb Bentley, 49, 123 Hardy St,. Williamston was isued three summons for driving under suspension, expired tag and operating an uninsured vehicle after officers were dispatched to a wreck at Hardy Street and Dickens Avenue. Sgt. L. E. Mulz investigated.
Jan. 30 – Leah Marie Cabaniss, 33, 135 Kensett Dr., Williamston reported a white 1997 Nissan Maxima missing from 2 W. 4th St. in Williamston. The vehicle was valued at $1500. F. Eugene investigated.
