Pelzer woman arrested for possession of meth with intent to distribute

Williamston police officers made a drug arrest after finding a female sleeping in a vehicle in the parking lot of the Lander Library.
May 19 – Samantha Mae Heald, 24, 26 Goodrich St., Pelzer was arrested for possession or methamphetamine with intent to distribute after officers observed a suspicious vehicle at the Lander Library located at 925 Greenville Dr.
According to reports, Heald was sleeping in the driver’s seat of the blue GMC truck.
During a search of the vehicle, officers found a black box that contained a set of digital scales, a glass smoking pipe, a metal tube which contained two clear bags of a white crystal substance which field tested as positive for methamphetamine.
Approximate weight of the crystal methamphetamine was 1.25 grams.
Heald was arrested and transported to ACDC. K. P. Evatt. L. Buell investigated.
Envision Williamston has been approved for an  Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) grant of $84,500 for implementation of the Williamston Downtown Acceleration Program (WDAP).
The ARC grant will be matched with local funds of  $99,150 to bring the total budget for the program to $183,650.
Key components of the grant for the Downtown Accelaration Program include a streetscaping plan, Phase 2 of the Adopt a Rest Stop program, Phase 2 of the facade grant program, 3 minor gateway projects, three greenway spaces, expanded banners, a downtown mural project and a decal project.
Partners on the project include the Town of Williamston, PalmettoPride, the Palmetto Business Association, the Palmetto Area Cultural Arts Center and several local property owners.
