Veterans were honored Friday during a special program held at the Veterans Memorial in Williamston. Williamston Mayor Mack Durham assisted a member of the Palmetto High AFJROTC with placing a wreath at the memorial during the program. Pastor Ron Fousek, who served in Vietnam, was the guest speaker. Palmetto High AFJROT Cadets marched from the high school to the memorial to participated in the service. Names of area Veterans listed on the memorial were read and each was accompanied by a ringing of the bell by a member of the Williamston Fire Department.
