According to reports, a Piedmont woman, Toni Hamilton, left her home on Cason Road last Wednesday to run some routine errands. She left a Christmas tree surrounded by presents. When she returned about an hour later, she found her front door kicked in and the Christmas presents, including six hundred dollars’ worth of clothing and a thousand dollars’ worth of jewelry, gone.
But that was the tip of the iceberg. When she checked her bedroom, another jewelry box had been plundered, and a larger floor model type had been stolen. Thirteen thousand dollars’ worth of heirloom jewelry, as well as wedding rings and necklaces, were missing.
