School bus rearended – Hwy. 77 & Hwy. 20

Update – SC Highway Patrol Trooper Hovis said that the bus driver was Debra Ann Russell, 55 of Piedmont. The driver of the truck that hit the bus, Braddock Kane Berry, 18 of Easley was charged with driving too fast for conditions. 2 passengers on the bus were transported for minor injuries.

According to Anderson School District One spokesperson Jane Harrison, the bus was transporting thirty students from Wren High School to the Anderson One and Two Career and Technology Center when the bus was hit in the rear by a vehicle. The accident happened in front of the Career Center. Five students and the bus driver reported injuries. One student was transported by ambulance and four others left the CTC with parents.
The district is waiting to hear the results of the injuries but none appear to be serious, Harrison said.
