Williamston Police Officers reported a light week of activity during the first week of the new year. Among incidents reported were:
Jan. 5 – Hibram Garcia, Jr., 14 black St., Williamston was arrested for simple possession of marijuana, speeding and failure to stop for a stop sign after a dark color SUV was observed traveling 52 mph in a 35 mph zone on Hamilton Street. B. K. Creel, Reserve E. Thompson investigated.
Jan. 8 – Officers investigated a domestic incident at 130 West First Street. No additional details provided. Sgt. L. E. Mulz investigated.
