Animal Shelter reported the following:
· We were able to save 96% of the animals in our care this week.
· INTAKES:  78 (12 owner surrender, 2 return adoptions, 46 from animal control, 12 strays and 6 transferred in from other agencies).
· OUTCOMES:  39 animals adopted, 0 died, 3 were euthanized for illness or aggression, 3 animals were owner requested euthanasia, 13 were returned to their owners and 9 were sent to rescue
· Clinic performed 59 spay/neuter surgeries.
· There are currently 177 large dogs, 20 small dogs, 16 puppies, 27 cats and 3 kittens in the facility.
· Out of the 192 animals available for adoption 144 (87.8%) are currently altered.
· There are 10 dogs being held for court.
· PAWS held its first event for volunteers at Uncorked Artist.  Staff and volunteers painted dogs that have been at the shelter over 60 days.  The paintings will be given to the new adopter when a dog goes home.
· PAWS received $265 in cash donations and The Jockey Lot donated shipping containers so we will have more storage for all of our donations.
· PAWS hosted a workshop, Customer Service for Animal Welfare Professionals, by Cathy Rosenthal.  She taught simple and easy techniques that can be used to improve customer service skills, from preventing misunderstandings and making better first impressions to tips on body language and persuasive language techniques that will take customer service to the next level.  Six shelters and Animal Control agencies from the upstate were in attendance.  Thank you to the Civic Center staff for all of your help.
