JERRY MICHAEL “MIKE “ HENRICKSON

Jerry Michael “ Mike “ Henrickson, Jr., 62, of Pelzer, SC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 29, 2018. Mike was the owner of M & D Upholstery for 39 Years. Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving wife, Cindy Sizemore Henrickson and their five children, daughter, Sonya Bane, daughter, Nissa Cooper, daughter and her husband Autumn and Jordan Mardis, son and his wife,Tristan and Logan Henrickson, daughter and her husband, Talya and Marcus Starrett; 11 precious grandchildren, Carson, Megan, Harlee, Dylan, Karys, Hagan, Peightyn, Paizleigh, Kingstan, Jerryn, and Koen and one great grandchild, Colby; his mother and her husband, Janette and Paul Rendleman and one sister, Talitha Mills. Mike was born in Mooresville, North Carolina. He was also the son of the late Jerry Henrickson.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Bessie Road Baptist Church, 575 Bessie Road, Piedmont, SC with receiving of friends prior to the service 1:30 P. M. – 3:00 P. M.

The family was at their home at 229 Johnson Road, Pelzer, South Carolina 29669. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Agape Baptist Church, 214 Crossbridge Trail, Piedmont, South Carolina 29673.

GERALD BASKERVILLE

Gerald Baskerville, 84, of Anderson, died January 24, 2018.

Born in Wilmington, IL, he was the son of the late Raymond and Margaret Van Duyne Baskerville.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Department of Defense.

He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn Mill Baskerville.

Surviving are a son, Eric Baskerville of Piedmont; and sister, Helen B. Wilhelmi of Augusta, GA.

Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Saturday, February 3 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Anderson. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

DEWITT TALMADGE GREEN, JR.

Dewitt Talmadge Green, Jr, 88, of Pelzer, widower of Dorothy Mae Satterfield Green, died Thursday, Febrary 1, 2018.

Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Dewitt Talmadge Green, Sr., and Mattie Black Green.

Self-employed, he owned Green Construction Company.

Surviving are two daughters, Janice Burns and Sherry Coffey; two sons, Mike Green and Talmadge Green; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Malcom Green and Marion Green.

Funeral service was held February 7 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Southeast.

Burial followed in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 154 Milestone, Greenville, SC 29615.

BILLY MOODY

Billy James Moody, 66, of Pelzer, husband of Nina Allen, died February 2, 2018.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late James Thomas and Gertrude Nora Breedlove Moody. He was employed with H&W Electrical.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jamie Moody of Berea and Josh Allen of Piedmont; sisters, Nancy McDonald, Jannie Jones, and Judy Newton; brother, Clyde Moody; and two grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 5 at Gray Mortuary Pelzer. Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery.

PASTOR RALPH JONES

Pastor Ralph “Billy” Jones, 67, of Piedmont, died Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at his home.

Funeral service was held Sunday, February 4 at Powdersville Community Church. Burial followed in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

RHONDA HAWKINS GREGORY

Rhonda Hawkins Gregory, 50, of Belton, wife of Sam Gregory, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at AnMed Health Medical Center.

Born in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter Wade M. Hawkins of Rock Hill and Nancy C. Hawkins Waddell of Cowpens.

She was employed as an LPN at Ellenburg Nursing Home.

She was a member of Cornerstone Pentecostal Community Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are; son, Justin Gregory of Liberty; daughter, Ashley Morris of the home; brothers, Allen Hawkins of Cowpens, Robert Waddell of Clifton; sisters, Tracey Harris of Williamston, Tonya Hunter of Dade City, FL, and Morgan Hawkins of Rock Hill.

Memorial service was held Tuesday at Cornerstone Pentecostal Community Church.

Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.

FRANCES BEIERS TRIPP

Frances Beiers Tripp, 95, of Piedmont, wife of the late Harold Tripp, Sr., died Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Born in Woodruff, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Rosa Theo Beiers.

She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church.

Surviving are her children, Harold Tripp, Jr., and Rosa Tripp, both of Piedmont; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sybil Willey of Greenville.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Mt. Airy Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

BEVERLY S. MOORE

Beverly Sullivan Moore, 99, of Piedmont, wife of the late G.M. “Milwee” Moore died Sunday, February 4, 2018.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Ross Lee and Erline Caudle Sullivan.

She retired from Tanglewood Middle School and she was a charter member of Wren Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughters, Jo Ann Hix, Gwen Cooper, Becky Woodson, Tammy Ayers, and Cheri Moore, all of Easley; one sister, Marguerite Monteith of Easley; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Wren Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery.

JEAN N. TUTEN

Jean Lois Nelson Tuten, 95, of Powdersville, died February 4, 2018 at the Magnolia’s Assisted Living in Easley.

Born in Chicago, IL, she was the daughter of the late Chester O. and Jennie Easterhouse Nelson.

She was first married to James E. Tate.

She is survived by four children, Barbara J. Tate, Donna T. Royer, Dan R. Tate, and Ted M. Tate; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a stepson, Alan R. Tuten.

She was predeceased by her second husband, James M. Tuten.

Visitation will be held from 1 – 2:15 p.m. on Thursday, February 8 at the Robinson Funeral Home, 1425 Powdersville Rd.,  Easley. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Robinson Chapel. Burial will be held at the adjoining Robinson Memorial Gardens.

The family is at their respective homes.

T.M. “TERRY” FERRELL

Terry M. Ferrell, 96, of Easley, husband of the late Orpha Ferrell, died Monday, January 29, 2018.

Born in Pomona, CA, he retired as a Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith minister.

He is survived by son, Stephen Ferrell of Edgefield; daughter, Diane Huddlestun of South Bend, IN; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday, February 3 at Guthrie Grove Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

J.C. KING

J.C. King, 84, husband of Laura Chambers King of Belton, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Rainey Hospice House.

Born in Belton, he was the son of the late Gary Evans and Lula Bannister King.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserve, retired from Milliken and Peerless Plant, and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are sons, Carroll King of Williamston and Phil King of Belton; daughter, Geneve Sauls of Anderson; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Saturday in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Burial followed at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

‘KATIE’ GILREATH

Ruby Kate “Katie” Gilreath, 84, of Williamston, widow of Fredie Lee Gilreath died Monday, February 5, 2018.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late A.B. Melvin and Lila Margaret Jeanes Roper.  She was retired from Celanese and a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughter, Kathy G. Hogg of Williamston; son, Tony Gilreath of Pelzer; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 9, at Greenville Memorial Gardens with visitation following.

ANNETTE SPARROW

Annette Sparrow died Tuesday, February 6, 2018.

She was born in Piedmont to Brooks and Montez Gillespie.

She retired from the UNC Hospital System and was a member of Amity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sister Carolyn Reeves of Piedmont; daughters, Rene Sparrow of Little Rock, AR, Michelle Sparrow Harper of Wilmington, NC.

A private graveside service will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church in Piedmont.

CHARLENE DEAN

The Unity Mortuary of Williamston announce that family and friends will gather at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 8 to celebrate the life of Charlene Dean at New Hope Baptist Church, 400 Murphy Rd., Belton. The family is at 147 Cherokee Rd., Williamston, SC 29697.
