A 27 year old nurse from Piedmont was killed in an accident on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County Wednesday. According to the SC Highway Patrol, Talon Kade Gambrell, 27, of Piedmont was fatally injured when the Jeep he was driving ran off the right side of the roadway and hit a sign before striking a tree. The crash happened at mile marker 60 on southbound I-85 just before noon Wednesday. Gambrell was a nurse at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, according to the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.
Gambrell was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and was trapped in the Jeep. He later died at the scene.
