BETTY BANNISTER

WILLIAMSTON – Betty Jo McAlister Bannister, 79, wife of the late Ronnie Malcom “Mac” Bannister, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.

Born in Anderson, she was a daughter of the late J.D. and L.E. Callaham McAlister. She retired from David N Plant and was a consultant for Home Interiors. She was a member of Williamston Pentecostal Holiness.

She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Michele Broughton (Steven) of Anderson; granddaughter, Brandie Nichole Liles (Jeff) of Williamston; great-granddaughters, Brooklyn Grace and Allie Blair Liles.

She was predeceased by sisters, Ruth Moore and Joyce McAlister; brothers, Ronnie Dale and Bobby McAlister.

Visitation was held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Sunday, April 22, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer. The service followed at 3:00 pm in the mortuary chapel with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The family is at the home of Dianne Wood, 2101 Anderson Hwy., Williamston.

DEBBIE DUNCAN

Deborah Schwiers Duncan, of Piedmont, died April 14, 2018.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late August Schwiers and Virginia Cowan.

She is survived by two daughters, Kim Duncan and Mary Marsh; one son, Keith Duncan; five grandchildren; and sister, Genie Moseley.

A funeral service was held Friday, April 20 in the Greenville Memorial Gardens Chapel.

PHRONSIE L. MCNEELY

Phronsie Long McNeely, 72, of Easley, died Wednesday, April 18, 2018.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late William McMurray Long and Cecile Ariail Long.

She was a homemaker and a member of Arial Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, James W. “Smiley” McNeely; children, Thomas W. McNeely of Gainesville, GA, Nancy M. Lollis of Williamston, and Dr. J. Benjamin McNeely of Piedmont; three grandchildren; brother, Dr. James W. Long of Fort Smith, AR; and sister, Ariail Seshul of Columbia.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 21 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

SARAH MIGNON WILSON

Sarah Mignon Ross Wilson, 80, of Athens, GA, died April 8, 2018.

Born in Anderson, she was the daughter of Dr. Sam Harry and Edna Ross.

She was a retired teacher.

She is survived by her three children, Sloan of New Haven, CT, Gregg of Austin, TX, and Callie of Everett, WA; brother, Sam H. Ross, III, MD of Williamston; and her former husband R. Sloan Wilson, MD, of Rye, NH.

KITTY L. MCDANIEL

Kitty Ligon McDaniel, 85, of Greenville, died April 17, 2018 in West Columbia.

Born in Greenville to the late John Ligon, Jr. and Margaret London Ligon.

She was predeceased by her husband, George Wesley McDaniel.

She is survived by her children, Debbie McDaniel of Columbia, Wes McDaniel of Jersey City, NJ, Missy Toothman of Pelzer; and brother, Robert Jackson Ligon of Greenville; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

MARY LESLIE TURNER

Mary Leslie Turner, 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 14, 2018.

She was born on August 24, 1927 and was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Pelzer.

She was a homemaker and loved life. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, taking care of others and her babydoll.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John T. Turner.

She is survived by two sons, John Wayne Turner (Christine) of Piedmont, Danny Turner of Williamston; one daughter, Tammy Rogers of the home; four grandchildren, Debbie Davis of Piedmont, Reggie Turner of Piedmont, Holly Turner of Williamston, and Kayla Rogers of Piedmont.

Graveside services were held on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC.

The family is at the home, 239 Eastview Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.

ZEKE SCHILLING

PIEDMONT – Ezekiel “Zeke” K. Schilling, 17, died Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of Christopher Shane Schilling and wife, Casey of the home and Deree Schilling of Cleveland, TN. He was a senior at Wren High School.

Additional survivors include sister, Shayna Alexis Schilling Ramsey of Athens, TN; brothers, Nathanael Cole Schilling of Cleveland, TN and Truman Preston Schilling of the home; step-brother, Sebastian Lee Brooks of the home; grandmothers, Delila Daniel of Cleveland, TN and Naomi Schilling of Mauldin.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Mountain Springs Baptist Church.

CHARLES BLACKSTON

Charles Ray Blackston, Sr., 88, of Greenville, husband of Phoebe Blackston, died Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Born in Piedmont, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from International Paper Company.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Ray and Ted; daughter, Dana Darling; and five grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Richardson Street, Greenville. Visitation will preceed the service from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.
